Mohamed Kamara |

Atlanta, Georgia

Mohamed is the founder and CEO of InovCares Connected Comprehensive Healthcare, LLC. He was inspired to develop InovCares following the tragic loss of both his sister and his aunt to pregnancy hemorrhage & preeclampsia. Previously, Mohamed was the Director of Operations for the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs. During his time at the center, he supported 150 minority-led businesses from idea to growth stage and headed the center's nonprofit financial statement preparation, budgeting, billing, and receivables, building operations, and maintenance. Mohamed has served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Goodie Nation - a nonprofit supporting 350 impact-driven founders with connections, access to capital, and customers. He also held positions as Chief Financial Officer for Wellness Healthcare Clinic - a comprehensive behavioral health and addiction medicine clinic supporting underserved patients impacted by opioids. Mohamed is also the host and producer for The Empowered Patient Podcast sponsored by InovCares, where he connects with healthcare providers, payor executives, and other healthcare leaders. He has held several roles as Program Leader for Startup Leadership Program, Manager of FP&A for National Fire Sprinkler Association, Senior Financial Analyst for TSYS, Senior Valuation Analyst for Rea & Association, and Senior Financial Analyst for AirNet Systems, Staff for Ernst & Young.

Mohamed holds an MBA in Finance from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where he served on the Alumni Association council board. He received his BSBA in Economics & Accounting with a minor in Political Science and Computer Programming. He served as President of the Accounting Association and founded a nonprofit - Voice of Africa, that connects high school students to college campus mentors. He has been featured by Google, Medscape Education, Becker's Healthcare, AfroWellness Magazine, and other news outlets for his work with InovCares.

InovCares is a digital platform that addresses inequities in healthcare access and delivery for women through telehealth services, point-of-care testing (POCT), and referrals to virtual obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) clinics.

Oscar Pedroso |

Buffalo, New York

Issue Area | Quality Education

Oscar is CEO of Thimble. As the son of two Honduran immigrants and a first-generation college graduate, Oscar has a first-hand perspective of the shortcomings of current educational standards and curricula provided to ELL/ESL and low-income students exhibit. Oscar is knowledgeable in STEM subjects, especially mathematics, having graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in Mathematics and Economics. After graduation, Oscar became a college admissions officer at the University of Rochester, where he offered pro bono consulting on behalf of inner-city high school students who were interested in attending college. His role at Rochester led him to become a mentor for several FIRST Robotics organizations at three high schools in Rochester, NY. His background has led to expertise in teaching, children’s development, English language learning, and executive functions. He has over ten years of working with schools, community-based organizations, and makerspaces and has conducted various professional development workshops in English and Spanish.

Thimble Academy exposes kids to over 100 technology fields through an engaging, one-stop-shop curriculum of lessons, professional training, and reusable STEM kits. Students can learn about robotics, drone technology, machine learning, cybersecurity, 3D printing, coding, AR/VR, Blockchain, audio engineering, and other technical fields.

Samuel Baker |

Orlando, Florida

Issue Area | Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Samuel is a student, founder, and innovator from Orlando. Sam is dedicated to fighting sustainability issues in numerous industries that negatively impact Florida's environment. Sam initially studied chemistry and worked as an undergraduate researcher at UCF before founding a startup called "WriggleBrew" based on an ecologically-safe fertilizer/pesticide he and his best friend Gabriel invented. After founding WriggleBrew, Sam switched to studying economics to better prepare himself for running a business and will be finishing his degree in December. While at UCF, Sam also founded an anti-littering club called "the Knights of Trash" and worked as a drone pilot and geospatial researcher at the Citizen Science GIS lab. Aside from its fertilizer and pesticide, Sam has also lead WriggleBrew in developing soil that more efficiently retains water and efficiently recycling food waste and bio-degrading Styrofoam. Sam's dream is to one day see entirely sustainable and eco-friendly fertilizers replace the polluting and unsafe chemical mineral fertilizers used worldwide.

Margaux Pagán |

Longwood, Florida

Margaux has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 15 years with a passion for engineering organizations for the most significant social impact. Throughout her career, Margaux has raised millions of dollars through direct response fundraising and marketing and was awarded Fundraising Star by the national publication Fundraising Success Magazine (now Nonprofit Pro). Margaux's vast experience in nonprofit management, technology, marketing, and fundraising gives her a unique edge in understanding nonprofits' functional and technical needs. She has worked to heighten the impact of nonprofit organizations across the country with her knowledge of website development, database implementations, data analytics, strategic campaign planning, and integrated fundraising/marketing. She has served on various boards and worked with community organizations, including Chicago Women in Philanthropy, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Tech4Good Orlando, YearUp, and Together Digital; and is a speaker on topics of nonprofit technology, fundraising, and digital marketing. Margaux graduated from the University of Central Florida with a focus on Organizational Communications and Mass Media and is a Certified Nonprofit Professional. She now serves as the Director of Marketing & Innovation at The Sharing Center in Central Florida.

William Glass |

New York, New York

William is the co-founder & CEO of Ostrich, a financial fitness app that uses community and social accountability to help people achieve their financial goals. In addition, William is the host of the Silicon Alley Podcast, which focuses on telling entrepreneurs’ stories & learning from their experiences. His background is in software sales, leading sales teams at Gartner, and opening up a new vertical for an AI startup, Remesh. In 2014, Will was awarded a Fulbright scholarship through the U.S State Department, where he taught English in rural Thailand for 14 months. Glass has his B.A. in International Relations from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. Will is originally from Alabama and now resides in Queens, New York.

Ian Winbrock |

Eugene, Oregon

Issue Area | Decent Work and Economic Growth

Ian is a grant writer, community organizer, and policy advocate. He has spent the last 14 years raising and managing more than $1.25 million in grant funding for nonprofit organizations and public sector agencies working with historically marginalized populations to tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges. To better address the funding needs of historically marginalized communities and the nonprofits that serve them, Ian Co-Founded ChangeFinder, and serves as its CEO. ChangeFinder is a SaaS startup that improves the grant application success rates for nonprofits and the foundations that fund them through best-in-class matching. He received his BA in environmental studies, focusing on sustainable food systems, from the University of California at Santa Cruz. Currently, he is pursuing his MBA, specializing in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, at the University of Oregon (UO). He also works as the Program Lead for the Center for Science Communication Research, a UO social science research center, advancing their DEI and engagement work.

ChangeFinder improves the grant application success rates for nonprofits and the foundations that fund them through best-in-class matching. ChangeFinder is a SaaS solution that combines grant research and management, donor research and management, fundraising management for nonprofits, and full-cycle grant management for foundations.

Sahar Jamal | Nairobi, Kenya

Sahar is the Founder & CEO of Maziwa Breastfeeding, a social enterprise that supports new mothers in developing markets by balancing breastfeeding and working. Before this, Sahar worked in healthcare brand management at companies like Johnson & Johnson in Canada and the UK. Sahar was born in Vancouver, and her parents are from Tanzania and India, informing her passion for emerging markets. She has a BCOM and BA Dual Degree from Queen's University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. Sahar enjoys running, yoga, live music and reading in her free time.

Maziwa Breastfeeding’s mission is to ignite the potential of mothers in developing markets to take control of the health and well-being of their families. Maziwa has launched the Wema breast pump, ensuring that mothers can express breastmilk in any environment. Maziwa is also training a network of Community Breastfeeding Ambassadors to disseminate lactation support.

Ray Horal |

Winter Park, Florida

Ray is fueled by a passion for people, creativity, and winning big. An Orlando native, Lake Brantley, and Florida Gulf Coast University alumni, his 15+ years of experience within the Wine & Spirits industry demonstrate a history of delivering results, building teams, and driving sustainable success. He co-founded a successful spirit brand and held the Senior Director of Sales role at Constellation Brands, a highly reputable total beverage alcohol supplier with brands such as Woodbridge, Robert Mondavi, Kim Crawford, Corona, High West Bourbon, Svedka Vodka, Casa Noble Tequila and more. He also served as Vice President of Spirits at Republic National Distributing Company, where he worked with retailers including Total Wine, ABC, Winn-Dixie, Walgreens, Walmart, and more. Throughout his journey, his one takeaway is that in a world that feels divided, people everywhere want to do good and be a part of giving back, which he witnessed when his mom was diagnosed with MS, and the MS Society stepped up to help his family.
