David Hojah |

David Hojah is a serial social Entrepreneur and visionary founder, passionate about empowering people with challenges to unlock their potential. David Hojah is the Founder and CEO of Parrots Inc., a technology that empowers those with neurological challenges to reach their limitless potential. After losing his aunt to multiple sclerosis and seeing his uncle and friend fight Alzheimer's and ALS, respectively, Parrots Founder David Hojah knows the struggles those with neurological and neurodegenerative diseases face.. David has more than fifteen years of experience in artificial intelligence, medical devices, robotics engineering, manufacturing, digital fabrication, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, dental instruments, women's health, and HealthTech. During that time, he invented and developed medical devices, dental instruments, intelligent wheelchairs, a medical drone for emergencies, a medical app tracking health for people with chronic diseases, and an AI-enabled platform for early diagnostics and health management.

Professor Banda |

Professor Banda is an ambitious Malawian, an innovative problem solver, and a technically sound individual who has hands-on experience in technologies for irrigation agriculture, food security, and sustainable energy. He believes that part of his life's mission is to promote access to accessible, affordable, sustainable, and efficient irrigation technologies to transform vulnerable agrarian communities' livelihoods. He has gained knowledge through his experience in project coordination, rural development, irrigation technology training, and mindset change for improved lives. Professor acquired a bachelor's in Irrigation Engineering from the University of Malawi Bunda College, now Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), and he is pursuing a master's in sustainable energy at the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS). He worked with the Malawi government under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security as an intern to train farmers in irrigation farming. He also works with Africa Windmill Project as a project coordinator in Chigonthi EPA to offer modern agricultural training and promote renewable energy technologies for irrigation farming to farmers. Professor is a co-founder and team leader of Water Engineering Technology (WET), which makes water pumping equipment designed for agricultural use. The equipment is made of locally available materials so that it is easily accessed, repairable, and understood.

Layo George |

Lakeland FL

Layo George is a nurse, healthcare administrator, and entrepreneur focusing on maternal health, equity, and social determinants of health. Layo is the founder and CEO of Wolomi, a maternal health startup that supports a companion app that provides resources and guidance to improve the experiences and outcomes for women of color during their perinatal periods. She leads a team of culturally competent multidisciplinary subject matter experts to address the maternal health crisis. She has led the creation of groundbreaking products for Health IT, Marketing, and Health Information Exchange companies. Before founding Wolomi, as a quality improvement specialist at the District of Columbia Primary Care Association, Layo led 15 healthcare centers through value-based practice transformation and oral health primary care integration. She also served on the District of Columbia Board of Nursing for over three years. She currently serves on the Board of Unity Healthcare, the largest federally qualified health center in the District of Columbia.

Ayesha Amin |

Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan

Ayesha Amin is a feminist activist and a gender justice advocate based in Pakistan. She has worked for women’s access to their sexual and reproductive health and rights since 2015. She envisions a world where every woman has the freedom and resources for her bodily autonomy. Ayesha is a Fulbright Scholar with MS in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. During her Masters, she researched women’s access to SRHR in South Asia, which motivated her to establish her nonprofit organization, Baithak - Challenging Taboos. Baithak’s recent initiative is Gul - an Artificial Intelligence-powered voice assistant to educate young men and women on reproductive health in local languages using WhatsApp Ayesha is also an Acumen Fellow, Rise up Youth Champion, Member of UN Women’s 30 for 2030 Network, Westerwelle Foundation’s YFP fellow, a Specialist for Community Engagement Exchange Programme, and the winner of the first-ever Family Planning Hackathon (Makespace) in Pakistan.

Baithak uses Artificial Intelligence to develop a voice assistant/voice chatbot called Gul to educate young men and women on reproductive health and rights in local languages via WhatsApp.

Oluwatomisin Kolawole |

Lagos, Nigeria

Oluwatomisin is a Doctor and Biomedical Engineer passionate about using the power of innovation and entrepreneurship to drive social impact and development in Africa. He was a United Nations MCN’s Campus Director at the University of Ibadan, where he led and trained 20 social impact enthusiasts on innovation, social impact, and leadership. Oluwatomisin is currently the CEO of Reeple, a fintech company that helps both creditors and borrowers reduce credit risk by helping creditors analyze the creditworthiness of their customers while also helping borrowers determine their creditworthiness and connecting them to appropriate low-risk and low-interest loans. He is responsible for securing essential partnerships and mapping out structures and strategies for growth and development at Reeple. Oluwatomisin also founded Vinsighte, a digital health company that aids visually impaired persons in reading and to navigate their environment independently. Under his leadership, Vinsighte has grown to enact her impact across Nigeria, with over 5000 visually impaired persons impacted. In 2019, Oluwatomisin was awarded the RUFORUM top 20 young entrepreneurs in West Africa award, and in 2021, the Commonwealth Innovation Award for sustainable development in honor of Vinsighte’s social impact in Africa.

Lin Thu Hein |

Lin is co-founder and Executive Director of Atutu, a nonprofit organization promoting community-led social change. Born and raised in Kachin State, Myanmar, Lin immigrated to the United States at 13. Growing up in an off-grid community that received humanitarian and development assistance, Lin had firsthand experience of the role NGOs and government programs played in the lives of marginalized communities.

Atutu provides three tiers of solar energy solutions designed to efficiently address the energy needs of the off-grid community and accompany the solutions with wealth-based cost subsidies and payment programs to reduce energy inequities often seen in marginalized communities.

Joey Down | Winter park, FL

Joey Down is a disability advocate, accessibility advisor, and technology entrepreneur. A native-born Floridian, Joey has called Winter Park home for the past twenty-two year. Joey attended the University of Florida, where he received a degree in sport management. Following graduation, Joey started his journey into advocacy by becoming a board member for Lighthouse Central Florida. Visually impaired since age seven, Joey quickly realized serving people with disabilities was going to be his life's work. In the fall of 2019, Joey founded Polaris Technology Group, a company dedicated to utilizing immersive technology to empower people with disabilities to have fulfilled, independent lives. In addition to Polaris, Joey serves as an accessibility consultant for companies and a policy advocate for people with disabilities.

Asha Owens | Atlanta, GA

Asha Owens is an award-winning product designer and software engineer committed to building equitable, community-centered technology. As a founder, Asha has designed and built tools that received national recognition. She has been named a Roddenberry Fellow, selected for Google for Startups’ Black Founders Fund, and served as a Civic Innovation Fellow. She is also a former Columbia University Design Leader, 4.0 Schools Fellow, and alum of Techstars Atlanta (Social Impact ‘20). Throughout her career, Asha has utilized her interdisciplinary background in Neuroscience (B.S., Brown University) and Instructional Technology & Media (M.A., Columbia University) to build innovative products and lead fast-paced, high-impact teams. She has been awarded Palantir’s Women in Engineering Scholarship for her work, recognized as one of CTA’s 2020 Faces of Innovation, and named one of 28 Emerging & Inspirational Black Leaders in Edtech by LearnLaunch. In 2020, her team was awarded the Rise Prize (Early Stage)—a prize for innovative solutions supporting the postsecondary success of student parents. Additionally, Asha’s design of BestFit’s other product—a college search tool—won the ideation stage of the Gates Foundation & NYU’s “Algorithm for Change” competition.

He is a self-taught software engineer and has an MBA from Louisiana State. Joshua is the Director of Startup Grind Baton Rouge, a community for startup entrepreneurs.

Korey Salter |

Korey Salter is the Black Engagement Director for Building Back Together, an organization missioned at advancing the Biden-Harris Administration's policy agenda, and the co-founder of Hydronomy, Inc.. This Orlando-based water sustainability technology company aims to address the global water crisis.

Korey received his undergraduate degree from The University of Central Florida and his Master's of Business Administration from The American University in Washington D.C. He is a native of Jacksonville.
